Process Mapping Consulting That Documents How Your Business Actually Runs — Not How You Think It Runs

The Process Mapping engagement is process mapping consulting that documents every workflow your business actually depends on, step by step. Every handoff, every decision point, every place work goes to die — captured in clear diagrams your whole team can read.

The Engagement

Why process mapping consulting starts before software gets configured

Almost every business runs differently than its owner thinks it does. The processes you describe in a sales call are the idealized version. The actual processes — the workarounds, the personal habits of long-tenured employees, the steps that exist only because of a vendor decision from 2019 — are usually invisible until someone documents them.

Process mapping consulting captures all of that. We interview the people who actually do the work, watch the handoffs in real time, and document what is really happening. The output is not a theoretical flowchart — it is a working map of your operation.

Without this, automation projects fail. Software configuration encodes assumptions. If the assumptions do not match reality, the software either gets bypassed or makes things worse. Process mapping is the foundation that makes every downstream operations project actually work.

Common Questions

About this engagement

How disruptive is this to my team?
Minimal. Process mapping involves interviews and observation, typically 30-60 minutes per person on the relevant team. Your team continues working normally while we document.
What level of detail do you go to?
Enough that a new hire could follow the maps and replicate the process. Not so much that we are documenting every keystroke. The goal is operationally useful, not academically complete.
What does this engagement cost?
All consulting pricing is custom-scoped on a Discovery Call. You receive a fixed-price proposal before work begins. Process Mapping engagements scale with the number of distinct workflows being documented.
What can I do with the maps afterward?
Onboard new staff faster, identify automation opportunities, train teams consistently, evaluate software with real requirements, and dramatically reduce the chaos that happens when someone unexpectedly leaves.
